Are there other places to advertise my business other than Craigslist that are free??

Answer:
I disagree with Melissa. Depending on what you are selling, there are tons of ways to advertise your site for 100% free. I do it. There are different techniques depending what type of product you might have.

There are sites that are well represented by Google and actually promote your product for you. If you want more info, visit the site below and enter your info. You’ll get two ebooks… but then you’ll receive a three market Internet Marketing ebook that’s VERY current. You’ll know what google is currently ranking high and target your customers. Good luck.

You might try listing in some free directories such as dmoz.com

You might also try some basic link building strategies to get more “free” traffic to your site - circulating articles and press releases can be helpful.

Having lists on your site, blogs with current quality content and product reviews are helpful in getting others to link to your site.

You can also work on optimizing your website so that it shows up high on the first page of the natural search results - recently updated content and high-quality links will certainly help you achieve this along with a well-organized and usable website.
