How do cost per view ads work? How much money do the advertisers usually pay for say a 30 second ad displayed on a website?

Answer:
1000 impressions will cost you somewhere between 10c and top 100$ depending on the context of the ad. i have advertised dance items - thousand impressions cost me 40 cents in USA, 31 cents in Canada, and 15 cents in Brazil. For items like legal services or dating websites prices can go $50
edit: on websites you pay for impression, surface, and positioning, and not so much for the duration
