What happens when you click on an ad?

This is for people who have done this before, Do pop ups happen or what?

You will be taken to the ads destination page. People like you are me that search for something are targeted for what they search. Its pretty easy really. If you search for a black corvette then an advertiser has set up ads that are directed towards your phrase “black corvette”. You find what you want, they potential make a lot of money by providing you with a service. Google seems to have made a buck or two from these ads as well. Haha

It depends. Usually it redirects to a spammy sales pitch, sometimes a pop-up.

Sometimes pop ups, sometimes viruses. It's ideal not to click them. The “win a free lap top” thing isn't usually true.
