media advertisement questions:
1. what assumptions does this text make about its audience?
2. whose values and beliefs does it reflect?
please tell me wat they mean because i dont get them PLEASE PLEASE THANK YOU
Answer:
I'd have to see the ad to better answer this but look carefully. Does it seem to be talking to a specific group? Is the message directed to a specific gender, ethnicity or religious/policitical background? Does it make a broad statement about the group in question. An example of assumptions the text might make might be something like appealing to woman's sense of style. For example if it's a clothing add for young girls it might talk about fitting in and the latest look. In this case it presumes that if you are a young girl reading the ad then you are concerned about being stylish. I could give you a whole lot better explanation if I had the context to the questions.
