Answer:
I have an Honors Associates in CAD Technology from ITT. In my area it is pretty much worthless because the employers won't accept anything less than a Bachelors.

My first employer was an architectural firm. When I was laid off I was told that they only intended to keep me for a month or two to help out the architect who was about to go on maternity leave. They also informed me that they only hire those with Bachelors degrees. They gave me a chance because of my high GPA…3.95.

2nd employer was also an architectural firm. Laid off because I couldn't keep up with the same work load as the interior designers. Owner lied to unemployment about termination so I couldn't collect.

3rd employer was a cast stone manufacturing facility. Loved the job but was downsized out.

Current employer: I'm an administrative assistant for an HVAC contractor. They refused to hire me in a drafting position because I never worked in home construction. Before I applied here I had applied at just about every engineering and architectural firm in the area and was denied a chance to be interviewed because I didn't have a Bachelors degree.

Answer:
in King Felix's Tech Firm, Inc.

Answer:
I work for Boeing along with a lot of other ITT Tech grads in that same field.

You can pretty much do anything. It's drafting, virtually everything that it built or manufactured is designed in a computer and drafters do a lot of that. Some of the graduates of my class are working here with me, one person helps design custom hand guns, another drum sets, and one woman works in medical nano technology.

You can work in pretty much any field you can think of.

Answer:
The previous answer is unfortunately the true one.

Most associates degrees earn you only the lowest paying job on the totem pole and you are always in danger of being laid off - even though you can progress if you work hard enough.

It would be better for you to bite the bullet and go for a Bachelor's degree - especially in today's economy.
