i have 2 do 2 years preques..then…2 year nursing program what is that all about?

Answer:
Nursing school is VERY hard. In fact, nursing school is harder than actually being a nurse. You are right, it's pretty much 2 years of pre-reqs then 2 years of nursing school for an associate's degree. However, you can go from your associate's to a bachelor's degree via online classes quite easily.

Word of advice, get ALL your pre-reqs out of the way before you start the nursing school classes. That's a full time job plus, in and of itself.

It's tough, but it's worth it in the end. Nursing students always have my complete and sincere sympathy and I keep reassurring them that it is worth it in the end.

Answer:
Yeah..Ive heard it is hard..but Its worth it :) good luck!

Answer:
Oh, I hate to see you ask "what is that all about?" There is so much to learn to become a nurse. Many programs will take you five years to complete. And yes, it is hard work. But it is very much worth the effort. Nursing is a rewarding profession.

Answer:
Are you transfering your pre-reqs to a BSN program? Otherwise I have never heard of a community college ADN program that makes you take 2 years worth of pre reqs before starting the nursing core. Most only require your gen bio, gen chem, and A&P. The rest of your general education courses don't need to be done before starting the nursing program. If you're going for your BSN, yes, it will take 4 years, like any baccalaureate degree would.

I think you might want to talk to the academic advisors at your school to see exactly what you're doing.

Answer:
nursing school is not hard, but what is hard is clinical because some of the nurses that work there do not want students there or feel that students will get in the way. Even though you may be at a teaching hospital for clinical or a nursing home, there are some RNs that do not like students and feel that students get in their way. This is what makes it hard becuase you are a student trying to learn and sometimes the nurses are mean and won't let you see the patient's chart if you are trying to collect data, sometimes they are mean to your instructor becuase they feel she should not be there on their unit.

Answer:
If it looks like you will be taking 4 years to be an RN, transfer to a 4 year school if possible. It can take longer that way, but if they are making you do that much at a community college you may as well go for the higher degree. It can take 3-4 years to get a 2 year degree. You probably could get the pre-reqs done in 1 year, but I am guessing that there are long waiting lists and they are trying to delay your entrance into the program.

I am not in nursing school, but I have heard it is rough. It requires a lot of time and effort, but if it is something you enjoy the stress should mostly be from the workload and not the level of difficulty.

I think that a lot of students that have a really hard time did not know what they were getting into when they decided to become a nurse, and they become ovewhelmed. See if you can take a CNA program over the summer. It only takes around 6-weeks depending on the program, you make decent money (compared to the amount of training needed), and it is great experieince.
