If a temporary 2-month (or so) layoff happens due to a temporary hour cut or staff cut, is one eligible to collect unemployment for this? Any knowledgable answer would be appreciated. Thanks! ;-)

Answer:
Yes when ever you are out of work it does not matter how long you are out. My sister was out for one week and got unemployment. But sometimes it can take awhile for you to get it.

Answer:
depends on the size of the company and number of employees

depends on how much the employee has worked in the past year

depends on prospects for other employment

the only way to know is to file. the worst that can happen is you don't qualify.

"generally", not always, when you are layed-off you do qualify for unemployment.

Answer:
Temporary lay off IS NOT A UNEMPLOYMENT FOR REGULAR WORKERS .THEY WILL GET SALARY.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE TEMPORARY WORKERS THEY NOT BE GIVEN SALARY
