Absolutely not, & I wouldn't know 'why' a MA would want such responsibilty along with reliabilty leagally! The ramifications for dosage & administration errors is large…Leave such to those who have been properly trained & licensed to do such, as well as are insured & legally liable. MA's do awesome things know with the realm of medical why ruin it & increase the stress? Why take away from the patient rapport? IF one is interested in medicines, administration, etc…then I advocate they pursue the education & training, thus get paid for their knowledge as well as be legally covered without high risk! Take care~

Answer:
I don't see why not if they took the proper classes.

I went to school for Medical Admin Asst. and we’d to learn the same math and pharmacology as MA's. I made straight A's, and many other's did too. I would trust them over a physician who is over worked and tired trying to compute drugs.

Answer:
well for that you would need to be a med tech.. there are classes for it so if you really want to go take a class… but they will never include those courses with the MA course.

medical assistants are not licences they’re just certificates…. so why should they have such a big responsibilty of passing meds?

MA's are specifically trained for work in doctor's offices..and honestly when does a dr office pass meds

Answer:
Yes,with an overseer. When in training. Its part of the medical profession.
