Earning money at 13?

Author: admin

I get $10 twice a month mopping for my great aunt, but that's hardly anything! Anyone have any ideas? Where can you actually work at my age, like stores and buisnesses? Nowhere? Anywhere? I really need some money!

Answer:
First of all your question is asked here over and over so make sure you read the archives to find what could be the perfect answer for you. At 13, you might be too young to work for an employer (state and federal laws) unless you move to China or Mexico to work in a factory for 60 hours a week. You can, however, work for yourself which is why so many will point you to babysitting, mowing lawns, selling lemonade or whatever products or services are simple to market. STOP!!! What you really need to do if you’re going to be successful is to brainstorm your skills, interests and experiences to create a business. What other services does your great aunt need that you can provide??? What about mopping for neighbors, friends of family, your other family members??? You can add dusting, vacuuming, washing windows, ironing, and cleaning cat boxes to your list and make $2 here, $5 there, and $10 doing something else. It all adds up. Maybe you don't want to mop. Maybe you don't want to do household chores at all. You’ve options. You might want to instruct others how to do something you enjoy and are good at. Maybe you can write a newsletter. Maybe you want to sell purple fish or take younger kids to the zoo or maybe you want to sell cookies with your friend who sells milk. You want to find a need and fill it. Business boils down to the facts that people purchase products or services that (a) help them make money; (b) help them save money; (c) help them save time; or (d) give them peace of mind. What's in your toolbox for success??? For more ideas, read the archives here and/or check out the library for books like “Fast Cash for Kids” by Bonnie & Noel Drew. Remember… success is a journey, not a destination.

Answer:
Federal laws prohibit you from getting a job. You'll have to get a job in your neighborhood doing some dog walking, pet sitting, mowing lawns, or baby sitting.

Unless you want to mop floors for your neighbors too. I wouldn't even do that….

Answer:
You're too young to legally work in stores and businesses. You'll have to advertise in your neighborhood and make some flyers for work you can do. List things like lawn mowing, dog walking, errands, odd jobs, etc.

Answer:
start volunteering at hospitals or wherever you want to work when you are older and as soon as you turn of age you’ll have a good job and get payed a lot

Answer:
You can cut grass

Answer:
You can begin these at 13. It's about $100 a month if you spend an hour or so every day.
