i want to be a RN, but my first language isn’t english. i know if i go to school for the program, the language problem will be a large problem for me to be a RN, since in college/university, i will have to study some very professional classes like antomy, physiology, mircbiolgoy…etc.
but i got told that if i go to some privite school for a CNA program, after 5 year working and experience, i can use my experience to get a LVN license, and then go to school for one year to get a RN license. i dont know if it is true or not. hopefully people out here can answer my question. thank you.
Answer:
That's not true. Your experience as a CNA will not help you to pass the NCLEX-PN which is the LVN boards. It's a different set of knowledge that you need to go to school to learn, and you aren't granted to sit for the boards without a certain amount of training (same thing for RN).
I think that if you know enough English to write this question and read the answers, you know enough to go to an RN program. Good luck!
Answer:
I don't think that is true. To become an LVN, you’ve to take a program that lasts one or two years. To become an RN you have to get at least a Bachelor's degree, which requires enough credits to put you at 4 years (although some have finished in 3 years or less–it is difficult to do, though, especially if you are planning on working while you’re in school).
