I’m so overstimulated and my books seem like they’re written in a different language this day, because I can't read them!!! I have written a nursing diagnosis od fluid volume deficit related to lower GI bleeding and can't think of a thing to teach my patient or for anything for community care besides follow up with Dr. Any advice would be sooo appreciated, thanks:)
Answer:
Depending on what the diagnosis is for the GI bleeding, you’ve to instruct the patient about that disease process. Other things that might pertain (depending on the diagnosis) are over the counter medications to be avoiding that could increase the bleeding. Dietary concerns - what type of diet should the patient be on. Signs and symptoms to be looking for of concern and when to call the doctor (again this is going to depend on the actual diagnosis and reason for the GI bleed)
Those are a few ideas that might help you as you prepare what to teach the patient. Again, look at the diagnosis and reasons for the bleeding - it will make a difference.
