Right now I'm a cashier at Shoprite, and I have the opportunity to be a front-runner/csm/person that helps when you have a problem that a cashier can't solve at a register, however, I also have the opportunity to go to the customer service desk. There are no financial benefits. Either way I'll probably be dealing with shitty customers.

I use to work customer service in a grocery store. And i'll be honest some days i really didn't like the job in the least, but some days it wasn't too bad. Anytime you're dealing with the public it can be frustrating. You have your bad customers who complain for no reason or take some things way over board when complaining, but most in general isn't that bad. I mean its not like i was dealing with a grumpy customer everyday. Yea i usually had to fix a cashiers mess up atleast once a day, but that doesn't mean EVERY customer is going to be all bratty about it. Some are very understanding. My job include, dealing with customer questions and complains, selling lottery tickets, money orders, making sure the cashier took breaks when they were suppose to and come when they should, counting cashier tills, doing till audits, sending western unions. At the end of the night i had to make sure everything balanced out. So the job of customer service (if you hav eto do all this at the place your at), isn't a walk in the park, cashier is a lot easier. So if you don't have a good attitude and WANT the extra work, stay where you're at.
Answer:
It sounds to me like you don't have the attitude for either job. Where do you get off calling the customers names? If you got poor service, or crappy merchandise, would you like it if the person helping you categorized you like this? sure, there are some people who complain just for the heck of it. They still deserve to be treated humanely. If I were your boss , I would terminate your employment immediately.
