Hi, here's my dilenma: I bought a dress from Ross a couple weeks ago, and it had a tear on it, so I asked at the front desk if they would take anything off the price. They took off 10 percent, bringing the cost from 20 to 18 dollars. Then I went home. I took it back today to return it, and then the lady at the counter asks 'when you purchased this, were you informed that you can't return an item if we give you a discount on it?' ANd I replied no, because if I had been told that, I wouldn't have bought it. Then she goes ahead to tell me that this is the store policy, and so they can't take this dress back. And we go on and it ends with me leaving with the dress.
At home, I looked at their receipt at the store policy, and no where does it state that, and the lady that sold it to me didn't even tell me that! So I plan on going back tomorrow to talk with a manager and get my money back, but I was wondering, what other recourse do I have if even the manager says no? Thanks for ideas!
Answer:
It depends on what say you live in and the laws pertaining to the notice of policy being in a non-discriminatory area. In full view. Since it wasn't stated and isn't on the receipt..you might have a chance at a credit or refund if you go to the manager. Be polite, explain that you shop there often…yada..yada…If you don't get anywhere don't shop there again and file a complaint with the city hall the store's in and with the Superior Business Bureau in your say. Finally, if all fails..don't shop there again and spread the word!!
Answer:
if the dress had a tear in it and you purchased it from ross that is perfectly normal.. you see ross is a rejection store they take the clothing that wasn't good enough for other stores
Answer:
You could call corporate office, tell them you were a loyal customer, blah blah, and your situation, but I bet when you talk to the manager they will let you return it.
Answer:
If you give them enough flack they'll give you your money back…unless the manager's a real doozy. Remember, customer should always be right! BTW, do you remember who helped you?
