okay im 16 and i turn 17 in aug. so i decided to apply for a job at mcdonalds. i got an application and filled it out correctly to my knowledge and took it in, naturally the manager wasn't there so they told me to come in a wednesday so i left my application with the lady at the counter.
so i did, and i told the lady i was here for the interview and they had me sit down an fill out a few papers and then shook my hand, told me he'd give me a call the following sunday and i left. -i never got a call that sunday- well i told my friend that they were hiring. and she turned her application in, and never heard from them. so she called them and they told her to come in and so she did, and she went in told them why she was there and they told her to sit down and wait. they didn't give her any papers to fill out like they did me. and a guy talked to her, and said she had the job, that she worked in a couple of days.now the point of this is, why would she have gotten the job instead of me?

There are a lot of reasons why this could have happened…i work at a mcdonalds and i have been there for a tiny over a year…at least at my store, we almost always are understaffed and can never keep staff for long…my ideal guess is that the store you applied to probably misplaced your application and forgot to call you back…what i would do is return to the store when you know the manager is there or any shift manager..introduce yourself, let them know you had an interview and ask if the position was still available….if your store is like mine and is understaffed, they'll be more than willing to hire you….good luck!!

There could be a lot of reasons for this… from misplacing your application to simply liking her better. I used to hire people when I was in management and there were a million different reasons I chose someone over someone else. This stuff happens in the workforce, and if you try to examine it, you'll go nuts. Just accept she got it, be happy for her, and apply somewhere else. If another job opens up at that McDonald's, I'm sure your friend will put in a good word for you.
