I bought a policy that stated I would be paid for a rental automobile, lodging and meals for up to $1000 for three days if I were in an accident. After two months, I still have not been reimbursed for my accident and the agent told me that the policy has improved.
The policy they say I purchased provides Food and Lodging OR a rental car for four days up to $1500!
Every time I call the company, they change the rules and procedures, I'm put on hold and transferred and everyone, especially ME is sorry…so very sorry.
No one in this company even knows which forms I need to fill out but everyone knows a reason why I can't be paid. I've never made a claim before but I'm very unhappy with the service I'm getting and would like to do all I have the ability to to tell as many people as possible.
(I haven't been keeping telephone logs and the names of employees and unfortunately didn't make copies of all the receipts I've sent to them. I really don't have legal recourse but I can tell people my story and hopefully slow their business down a little so that they have the ability to finally answer their damn phones and reply to their mail.)
The company? TRIPLE A (AAA ROAD SIDE SERVICE FOR TRIP INTERRUPTION)
Answer:
As other have stated Superior Business Bureau is your best bet. If you’ve a copy of your policy showing you’ve the rights to both Food and Lodging AND rental automobile, I'd call your local news station. In the Tampa Bay area we have an investigative reporter that focuses on consumer issues. They often get things resolved when you are drowning in the red tape. Check to see if any of your local news stations do something similar. It couldn't hurt.
Answer:
File a report with the Superior Business Agency, and tell AAA that you're doing so.
You are right that it would be challenging to bring suit if you don't have documentation.
Answer:
Insurance complaints should go to your state's insurance commissioner. They keep a log of these complaints and investigate companies that don't follow through on their insurance polices.
Answer:
the bbb might be your ideal bet, the company would have to resolve the issue and you will warn others in the process.
