i need people's opinions who have worked there….preferably in new york state. (because i know everywhere else it sucks REALLY bad).
Answer:
I don't live in NY but if you have other opportunity for a job then do not go to Walmart. They are only allowed to hire you on for part time dayshift and you have to have open availability, or they might hire you on full time for the 3rd shift. It really sucks. They treat you like crap, you don't get any kind of benefits for 1 year if you are part time, and no benefits for 6 months if you are full time. Their insurance is outrageous. You have to give them a 3 to 4 week notice if you ever need a day off. If you need a day off for someone who has died that is not immediate family they don't let you have it off. So, if you take it off it goes on your file as an unapproved absence. If you go there do not go as a cashier. The job is extremely stressful. All kinds of people run on your drawer. So, for example if it comes up short, you get blamed and that goes in your record also. Just take it from my experiece as working as a cashier and back in the connection center for 3 years. Don't work there. Most people that work there now would tell you if they could find another job they would not be working there.
