instead of making a $50 payment i made a $550 payment through my banks bill pay.
it doesn't make me overdrawn but i would like my $500 back.
will they give it to me? and how should i go about?
Answer:
Call the company that you made the payment too; mistakes happen all the time, so I can't see why they shouldn't return it.
Answer:
They will credit it to your account, doubtful they will return any over payment.
Answer:
I doubt they will give it back. contact customer service right away…and if they won't, maybe you could use that credit card to pay the other bills you were going to pay from the bank. the good news is you credit card is alot lower, and they won't be charging you as much interest.
Answer:
yes, you can get your money back. call the bank and have them adjust the transaction. they should be able to transfer the money back into your account automatically. Call them and demand they do it.
Answer:
It's STILL your money. If their policy is to keep it in your account then they will just apply the $500 to whatever charges you make until it's all eaten up.
I LOVE credit stuff and questions and answers. Here is one of my favorite sound bytes from a financial guru.

This one audio clip of his CHANGED MY LIFE when I heard it.
Listen to this man for free, on the radio or online. This is like getting financial wisdom from Bill Gates except this guy has a national radio show.
Answer:
Call them explain the situation. They will make a refund. hwever it will probably take a month.
Answer:
Getting the money back is no problem. This happens all the time. You can do it one of two ways:
Proactive: Call them. They'll refund the balance of the money as soon as your check clears. It'll be in the form of a check made out to the primary credit card holder.
No Action: After 2 or 3 months pass, your credit balance will result in them auto issuing a check.
