Hello,
I have just turned 18 and I’m on my own and experiencing life.
So I went to cingular to get a phone for me and when the lady checked my credit I was shocked. See the thing is I don't have credit I never wanted a credit card.. so since i have no credit i had to put a $500 down payment before I could do anything… No thanks.
So I picked up a go phone for now.
I was looking at various credit cards and don't know what I need I jus want a card so I can purchase small things and pay it off right away to get credit can somebody help me out?
Answer:
There are a variety of credit cards designed for people with bad / no credit. Even though you'll pay higher interest and additional fees to use one of these offers, they'll give you the opportunity to prove your credit worthiness and build your credit score over time. Here's some examples: http://www.wowcreditcards.com/bad-credit…
Keep in mind, with regular on-time payments, you'll slowly begin building your credit score - and eventually you'll be able to move on to a superior credit card offer. But for now, you'll be limited until you build some credit history. Just be sure to pay at least the minimum monthly payment - and always pay on-time!
Answer:
Do not fall into the credit card trap. If you have to put up money for a cell phone, don't get the phone, or go with the go phone. Building credit is just a way to enslave your future to the credit card companies. Never use them, never have them, tell everyone you know to get rid of them.
Answer:
You have to be very careful with credit cards because it can screw up your credit very fast. Since you are starting out, you don't have much option but to apply for basic cards. The following site should help you find a card that you can get approved for. Check in Bad Credit/No Credit section. Good look! Always pay on time!!
Answer:
If you’re a student, you might want to apply for a student credit card or you can apply for credit cards for people who are new to credit. This will help you build credit, some of these cards have no annual fees and low interest.
