I have a Public Relations module, and this is my 2nd piece of coursework. There is no set question or brief, or criteria for that matter.

I do know that I am to write a 3,000 word proposal for a new (hypothetical) product launch. I'm discussing the market I'm planning to break into, my publics, communication tools etc. That makes sense in my mind, but it's the general tone of a proposal I'm not familiar with. What is the general way to introduce a proposal?

Is it to say "After heavy consideration and research Company A is planning to launch Product B.." etc?

Do you talk in 3rd person? Or is it professional to say "We at Company A believe after much research that Product B will be a success…"?

I have started this proposal, but I like to be sure of what I'm writing.

Does a P.R proposal discuss advertising in detail? (I'm an advertising student and don't want to confuse it with PR).

Basically anyone have experience writing P.R proposals? Any examples of proposals or plans?

Answer:
microsoft.com has a number of sample business documents and templates on their website - go to downloads/templates and see the examples they have available (search proposals) to get the general idea.
