i found this phrase book in a rare used bookstore. it was made in the 40s and i have a good feeling it was for the soldiers during the war. on the cover, it says “restricted” then it goes on to explain how nobody should have this phrase book unless they're loyal to the U.S. and are working with the government. i got it to help me with my german but a lot of the phrases are useless…for example: don't shoot me, down!, are you an american soldier?, i have been poisoned. the date on the book states november 30, 1943. I want to sell it on ebay. how much do you think it's worth though?? is there a place on the web i can go to that might determine an estimate??

Answer:
First check to see if anyone else is selling it. It might be more common than you think. Many books from the 1940s are worthless, unless signed by someone important.

Also check completed listings. If anyone has sold one recently, you'll see it there.

Check Amazon to see if anyone else is selling one through the marketplace. Chances are you'll see several, and they will be around the same price range.

If you don't find it in any of these places, see if you can determine whether it's legal to sell it. Just because Hitler is long gone doesn't mean all the US military documentation out there can be legally sold.
