I am having problems with a memorial company… they ripped me off. I have been to the business place and spoke to the man who made the deal with one of my family members. When I asked him if he owns the company, he said yes. I thought this was weird and asked him his last name. His last name and the name of the business are different. This day I am told by a family member that he does not own the business, he just works there.

How do I find/contact the owner of the business? I've looked it up online and in the phone book and the only numbers I find are to the business (and the man who lied in the first place).

How do I figure out who owns the company and how do I contact them?

Answer:
Your state has issued a business license to someone to conduct business at that location, 123 Elm Dr., Any town, Any State. Run the name by the office of the Secretary of Say, the are in charge of corporations. In fact, it would be an excellent idea to order a copy of the telephone directory for the say capitol of your state. You can fiche for the several offices who have control over a specialized business like a memorial company. Most says have a prepayment protection plan. The attorney general has consumer fraud protection division. You might be able to get the numbers from the “Blue Pages” of your local phone directory. Most government offices not efficient and anticipate to be delayed. I’m not a fan of solving a problem through the bureaucracy. You might have the time and patience.
