Is it really a good time to buy stuff?

Everyone is telling me it's a good time to purchase.

But I really don't see any prices coming down.

Give me some examples.

Fortunately I have cash to spend.

I don't see prices coming down much either and I have been tracking certain consumer durables and electronics since the second quarter of last year. The only thing I see coming down is home values and I have the ability to tell you that they will go down further. I think retailers are still hanging on to price increases they gained when gas prices were sky high and they never reduced prices after they went down. I do see some good deals on new, used and repossed cars, but I still think they’re overpriced in general. It could just be my perception, however, as I see automobiles that are priced the same as I purchased my first home for in 1979! LOL

Things haven't really changed that much. There are some good travel deals and stores are closing, but nothing that’s significant enough in which to go “run out and buy.”

Yes, that's fortunate you’ve money to spend, but simply purchase what you need (and ocassionally what you want). Don't just go run out and buy things cause you think prices are coming down. They aren't unfortunately.

It depends what you’re interested in. Clothes are a good deal from what I have the ability to see. Prices have come down on those. Tv's are a good deal especially when you compare prices from different stores. Computers have come down quite a bit from a year ago or so. Refrigerators are a good deal too . It depends on where you get them.

A firearm, extra ammo, lessons! As the economy worsens, the then “havenots”. unable to find work or support their families, will turn to activities they never thought they were even capable of.

I am not paranoid, I’m just realistic. We live in a scary world. State you spent $500, and nothing happens, you had insurance, and if society returns to somewhat stable; sell! If I’m correct, you will be in a position to protect yourself and those you love.
