What’s the current value for Gold?

I’m going to go to a jeweler and give up my “scrap gold” for cash. I am curious if anyone knows what the average amount is for gold. I know that it depends on what kind of gold it is (10K, 14K, 18K, 24K, etc) but I’m curious to know:
On average, about how much is gold worth per GRAM? per OUNCE?
I would like an answer in US DOLLARS.

Here is a web site that’ll give you the current spot gold price per Troy ounce:

Divide by 31.1 to get price per gram.
Your local coin shop pays about 80% of spot. Pawn shops pay less, and cash4gold.com should be avoided (Read some of the responses on Yahoo Answers regarding cash4gold.com and you will see why.)
