My partner had a joint with his ex wife and she wont sign the form so he can take his name off the account.
Is there another way we can get his name off the account with out his ex wifes permission?
Answer:
most joint accounts are not 2 signatories, only 1 is required.
of course the other option is to tell her you are going to take out a 15,000 loan, default on it and she will be liable as she is named on the account. might make her see sense.
and if they are ex wife he can take divorce papers into bank surely.
Answer:
Tell him to call the bank close the account - the bank will sen him a cheque of all the funds in the accont.
Answer:
I would check with the bank and see what alternative options there are. If the bank says that the only way is to have the other person sign off. I would consult an attorney.
Answer:
If the accounts empty then there shouldnt be a problem. If theres money owed on it then it has to be paid off, if theres money still in it then it should be split between the two of them, talk to the bank in question, i put a stop on mine and my ex's because he ran it over the overdraft now hes refusing to pay it off.
Answer:
open up a new acount at a new bank draw all hismoney out of his old bank put it into his new acount she cant get at it ,dont use the joint acount anymore ,if his wage is paid into his bank alter the details to his new acount job done
Answer:
Close the account - period.
