If everyone got their stimulus check and deposited it into a savings account, or if they spent the whole thing right away?
Answer:
Well, spending the cheque would stimulate the economy, encouraging more jobs to be created, and more economic growth. This only works if almost everyone does it.
Not spending the money would have a neutral effect on the economy. You might earn a slight amount of interest on it, but it wouldn't do wonders for the economy.
