I recently made a..not so smart choice and got married, I'm still in college, and have a part time job. We're going to move in together, but I need to get a loan pretty quick to pay a couple months rent on an apartment, (maybe not 10k) She doesn't have a job yet. And it'll be a while (month or 2) before she can get one (personal reasons). I'd like a loan that I could put off till Im completed with college. Anyone have any advice where to look, or am I out of luck?
Answer:
I have to laugh at all these people trying to advertise/sell themselves to you.
Based on your situation I think the ideal option for you is
http://www.prosper.com/
It is a site where “regular” people lend money to other “regular” people. The company handles all of the legal parts of the deal and makes sure that both parties’ identities and details remain as private as you would like them to be. I myself have used this site to borrow money before and it worked exceptionally well.
While going to your bank sounds like a good plan, more than likely you’ll be denied because your DTI (Debt to Income) is too high and/or your credit isn’t where it needs to be to qualify for a personal loan at a traditional bank.
Answer:
First of all, forget the scam responses you see above. Your're going to have a tough time getting a loan OR renting an apartment when she doesn't work and you work only part-time. Your income won't cover either the loan payments or rent. Your wife needs to find that job first in order to qualify for anything.

Firstly, The SOHO thing sounds too good to be true. Guess what, it probably is…
I'd firstly goto your bank and ask them. Tell them it's for debt consolidation and student “stuff”. It would be good to know what country you're in…could perhaps provide you with more direct advice.
Answer:
there are several lenders on the internet. you can go look there or you can find one in your city. since you are still in college, maybe you can take out a student loan and get better rates.
