Alright this morning around 9am (7/05/08) i deposited $800 into my checking account, half of it was from a check, and the other half is from cash. My account statement says that my checking balance is 875, but my available balance is 75??? The posting date says monday so does that mean i can only use the 75 dollars till monday??? I go through central bank. Thanks!
Answer:
It sounds like the personal systems they use don’t recognize the difference between checks and cash deposited immediately. That's why you only have $75 available. Many banks will show cash deposited immediately but apparently not the one you're using.
All will be updated overnight when Monday's processing is done. It's not really too huge a deal but just be aware next time that you don't want to deposit cash you’ll need access to before Tuesday morning.
Answer:
Really depends on your bank. A lot of banks place holds on deposits of 7 days when the deposit is a check. I had to talk with my bank manager to have them take this hold off of my account. It might be that on Monday you’ll on have 475.00 to work with.
Answer:
Actually it will probably not be available until Tuesday morning. Today is Saturday, which means the bank would be working on Monday's business day. Monday's deposits won't be credited until Monday night.
Answer:
Yup, you’ve to wait for the deposit to credit on Monday (most likely Monday evening). So you only have $75 available until your deposit is fully credited.
Answer:
Spend the $75 wisely. Deposit made on the weekend are not truly posted on your account until Monday.
Answer:
Yes all banks hold your money a day or 2 after the deposit. Unfortunately longer on holidays. You should have access by Monday.
Answer:
i deposited a check this day too and the money probably won't be there til' monday at 2pm Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
