If you could give 5 dollars to th white home would you mail it out tomorrow to get rid of our billions of dollars in debt so we can get out of this depression?

Answer:
All I can state is thankfully I'm Canadian and we are not in as bad as a rough spot. But I would definitely mail $5, overall it's going to help America's future. I watched President Bush live during his speel tonight on tv, and I don't know about this “Bill” that he wants to pass, I don't understand how the government can have like $7billion dollars of taxpayers money laying around, and the fact that he said “most of it” will be returned?? Hmmmm thankfully I am not Obama and McCain who have to sit down and talk about this with him soon!

Answer:
First off, we're not in a depression. We’re in a recession.

To answer your question: DO NOT get rid of our debt, it's actually keeping our economy alive. The debt is being financed by foreign countries and as long as they are willing to purchase it, we’re in good shape. We’re a purchasing economy, meaning we buy goods from other countries. Since we’re a purchasing country, we need to have debt. If we were a selling country, we would be in horrible shape.

I advocate picking up some finance books and doing some research of your own. Learn how the economy works, how interest rates work, and all of the taxes that government doesn't control that everyone thinks they do.

Answer:
I would if it would make everything better I mean after all thats only like a gallon of gas or a gallon of milk for most people a pack of cigarettes but I would send it for sure knowing that it would make everything superior! even though I don't think that would be the cure cause they would want more lol I guess theres supposed to be 300 million people in america and 5$ each that would be 15,000,000,000,000 take it out my check I dont want to have to use the stamp to mail it lol

Answer:
Try $10,000. That’s closer to the per capita debt of the US Federal government. I don't know about you, but I don't have that much available. Just the proposed bailout comes to more than $3,000 for each man, woman, and child in the US.

Answer:
No. I'm sick of our politicians wasting our tax money while they give themselves pay raises. Meanwhile, the average American continues to see his standard of living deteriorate.

Besides, it wouldn't last. In ten years, the economy would be wrecked again.

Answer:
Well, lets do the math - if EVERY person in the US, babies included, sent in $5, that would be around 1.5 billion - a drop in the bucket, unfortunately.

Answer:
Ha no. The USA government has all the money they need to pull the country out of debt, yet they are lying to America and hiding it all.

Answer:
Each person's share of the national deficit is closer to $30,000.00. The $5.00 wouldn't even one day's interest.

Answer:
No way! I live in NJ and my dollar is taxed 3x before I get it.

Answer:
I wouldn't give the white home 5 dollars of my hard earned money. The white house is richer than I will ever be !i

Answer:
omg i KNOW they need to just make a bill for everyone like 12 dollars or something

Answer:

Answer:
No. If the American public continues to bail out Washington it will never learn.
