In my budget, should it be under housing or personal? Home fixes are currently under housing (saving for an updated central air conditioner, and new toilets). The vacuum is for the “house” or is it like soap and it goes under personal?
Answer:
Dave Ramsey is a GOD isn't he? My wife and I are currently on his plan as well. We have done a modified budget to suit our lives from the forms in the back of the Total Money Makeover. I have put in a misc. savings column and a housing repairs/maintenance column. I guess it could go in either one. The misc. savings column is for stuff that doesn't happen each month. Things like license plates or my yearly membership to Cotsco. On the other hand, We save each month for repairs to the home but don't always spend it each month. I guess you could put it in either place. I would probably put it in my misc. column.
I hope this plan is working for you as well as it is for us. It is a great feeling to be getting out from under some of this weight, isn't it. Good luck and keep up the good work.
Answer:
Don't think the category matters as much as you having the money to buy it. In his plan you are to make each dollar have a purpose the catagories is a way to plan. So it isn't a big deal if you put it under home, or personal again as long as you have the cash for it.
