I know there are people out there that have done that with the end of the year pay check stubs!!!! Let me know what happended and how soon you got your refund! THANKS!

Answer:
The banks that we use aren't doing paystub loans anymore. HSBC,FBOD and SBBT. Which are the banks most tax prep places use. The banks got burned last year. If you do find anyone doing it I would be very wary of them.

Answer:
Keep in mind that in addition to the fact that it is illegal you may be asking for other troubles by filing with a pay stub. If you W-2 is different in any way from the pay stub you are asking to be audited or at least get a CP2000 from the IRS.

Answer:
You should be able to do it today. Today, is the first day most Tax Preparation places are accepting them. If you efile you will need your employer ID number. I got mine back the next day with rapid refund. If I had efiled it would have taken a week and a half.

No, it is not illegal if you use the proper forms. I did mine last year and I did it through a reputable Tax Preparation service. There is no way they would have done something illegal.

Answer:
You should wait for your W2 because there could be corrections that your employer makes between your last paystub and your W2.

To answer your second question, an audit is when the IRS chooses your tax return for examination. They look very carefully at everything looking for errors and fraud. Sometimes this is done without you even knowing; sometimes, they will want to meet with you and inspect your records.

If you just have a w2 and nothing else… then there isn't much for them to look at. :)
