I have a real estate license and the law says that I can only hang my license as in work under one company only so is tax preparer license the same? I currently work for Liberty Tax but they're not giving me enough hourly and not enough hours and don't pay me if I stay longer than my shifts so I wanted to see if I am allowed to legally pick up a part time shift at another tax company that's not a Liberty Tax franchise or am I tied to this franchise only?
Don't get me wrong, I am getting walk in clients but at this rate I don't think I would even make over $1000 a month. I just feel that working for a franchise gives you less of a potential income because your commission is super low even though they charge ALOT for their service but if I worked for a mom and pops firm then I would get a bigger commission and service fees would be alot less so it would be better for me and my clients.
Anyone with experience in tax services think so?
Answer:
When I worked with H&R Block I had to sign a non-compete clause that applied for three years after I started. I imagine any of the major chains also do this.
Answer:
I don't know. There is a conflict of interest if you work for the IRS or your State's Tax Revenue Dept.
Answer:
Read your employment contact - it probably has a non-compete clause. Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
